Although the Council is committed to encouraging people to use public transport, to walk and to cycle more often, there will always be a need to provide and manage parking spaces.
This may be in the form of public off-street car parks or on-street parking spaces which are managed by the Council, or it may include working with partners to ensure appropriate levels of parking provision in other private parking facilities.
There are other elements of parking which need consideration such as provision for members of the blue badge scheme, including the shopmobility facility.
