Smoking Ban and Smoke Free Legislation
About the Ban
The law banning smoking in enclosed places in Wales came into force on 2nd April 2007 under the Smoke-free Premises etc (Wales) Regulations 2007. The aim of the smoking law is to protect workers and the general public from the harmful effects of second hand smoke which can cause lung cancer and heart disease to adult non-smokers and respiratory disease and cot death in children.
