School Crossing Patrols

The job of a School Crossing Patrol is both worthwhile and rewarding. The hours are part-time, term time only with the working hours varying from as little as 3 hours 45 minutes per week to 18 hours 45 minutes per week dependant upon the requirements of each individual location, and will involve being on duty in the morning, sometimes during lunchtime, and when children leave school for home in the afternoon.
What type of person is best suited to this job?
The service is looking for punctual, trustworthy, honest individuals who have a genuine interest in the safety of children
Are formal qualifications required for this post?
No- common and practical sense are more important for a School Crossing Patrol. However knowledge of road safety, the ability to judge vehicles speed and distance of on coming traffic and appreciation of vehicle stopping distances in all weathers is necessary.
