Local History - A Study over Time
This course will examine key aspects of the archaeology and history of South Wales from early to modern times: from the earliest known human burial in Europe to post industrial South Wales, drawing on examples of archaeological and historical sites and a variety of historical records therefore understanding the development of the region over time.

The Tudor Dynasty
This course takes you on a journey through the history of the ever-popular Tudor period, one of the most colourful and dramatic periods in history. Starting with the Wars of the Roses and Battle of Bosworth Field, you will examine the personalities of each of the five Tudor monarchs and focus on the key issues and events of each reign. Topics include Henry VIII and his six wives, religious change, threats and rebellion, the 'cult' of the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I and the Spanish Armada. You will also be introduced to the nature of studying history as a discipline and to the skills of the historian.
