Maesteg Market
| |
Brief history & details
Maesteg Market is situated on Talbot Street and in the heart of Maesteg Town Centre’s retail area and consists of permanent indoor stalls and casual and permanent outdoor stalls. The Indoor Market is located on the lower ground floor of a 3 storey Grade 2 listed Victorian Stone building, which is occupied on the ground and first floor by the Town Hall. The Outdoor Market adjoins the Indoor Market and is situated between the Council Offices on Talbot Street and the Bus Station on Church Street. Pedestrian and vehicular access is gained from both of these streets. The Outdoor Market was redeveloped in the 1980’s, although some of the original units remain along the river frontage. The casual stalls are amongst the permanent outdoor stalls.
Where to find us
Leave M4 at Junction 36 and take the A4107 sign posted Maesteg. In approximately 3 miles, turn on to the B4282 which takes you through Bryn and down the hill into Maesteg. The clock tower should be visible as you enter the town. Continue straight on into the town and the road will become Talbot Street with the hall located on the right.
