What We Do….

Bridgend Youth Music

Would you like to learn how to play a musical instrument? Did you know that the Bridgend Youth Music Team aims to provide tuition at all levels on all musical instruments for Bridgend county borough pupils? All teachers are well qualified and experienced specialists in their field, having trained in a variety of musical institutions. They are all accomplished performers and are actively committed to and involved in making music.

Bridgend Youth Dance:

If you are aged between 7 and 25 years, Bridgend Youth Dance really is “Your Chance To Dance”. Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts & Culture service and supported by the Arts Council of Wales, this scheme encourages participation through the basic dance experience and targets the untapped talents of those wishing to further their skills through workshops, educational visits and performances.

Bridgend Youth Theatre

Bridgend Youth Theatre now has over 500 members aged between 5 and 25, holding workshops in The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl and the Berwyn Centre in Nantymoel. Members have performed to high acclaim through Bridgend county borough, London, Cardiff and Dublin and have been offered the chance to appear in TV and film projects for the BBC, ITV and S4C. There is no audition or interview to join the scheme, our only demand is that members fully commit themselves to working together, ensuring the experience is enriching and rewarding.

Bridgend Youth Writing Squad (12 – 18 years)

Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts & Culture Service in conjunction with Academi – Welsh Literature Council for Wales, young people are able to explore new opportunities for creative writing including poetry, scriptwriting, journalism, fiction, author visits and so much more. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to learn more about the methods of creative writing and even see your work performed on stage!
