Catering services - School meals
|
|
Catering Services provide school meals in the primary and secondary schools across Bridgend county borough. As local authority caterers, we are continually working towards healthier menus in all our dining halls. We believe there are no healthy and unhealthy foods, just healthy and unhealthy diets! |
|
For children aged four and over it means:
- A balanced diet with plenty of variety and enough energy for growth and development
- Plenty of fibre-rich starchy foods, such as, bread, rice, pasta and potatoes
- A variety of fruit and vegetables
- Not eating too many foods containing a lot of fat (especially saturated fat)
- Moderate amounts of fish, meat or alternatives
- Moderate amounts of dairy products
- Not having sugary foods too often
Our meals contribute to a child’s healthy, balanced diet with plenty of variety, fresh fruit and vegetables. |
|
All Catering Services menus are freshly prepared daily and follow the nutritional guidelines set by the Welsh Assembly Government in their “Appetite For Life” strategy. |
