Grants for commercial premises
Do you own or have a long lease on a shop, office or other premises in a town centre within Bridgend County Borough? If so and your property is within a designated boundary, you may qualify for assistance towards improving the building from one of a range of grant schemes offered by Bridgend County Borough Council.
Commercial Improvement Areas
Is your property in Pontycymmer, Blaengarw, Maesteg, Caerau, Nantyffyllon, Ogmore Vale, Nantymoel, Aberkenfig, Kenfig Hill or Pencoed? These are Commercial Improvement Areas where grants of 30% up to a maximum of £15,000 are available. Industrial Improvement Areas
Similar schemes are also available for Small to Medium Sized enterprises (500 employees or under) occupying industrial premises which they own or occupy under a long lease. Litchard and Brackla and Village Farm Industrial Estates are Industrial Improvement Areas where grants of 30% up to a maximum of £25,000 are available for comprehensive improvements to sites and buildings.

Town Improvement Grant Areas
Is your property in Porthcawl, Bridgend, Maesteg or the Garw Valley? These are Town Improvement Grant areas where grants provided by Bridgend County Borough Council and the Welsh Assembly Government are available for improvements to the exterior of commercial premises. Grants are again fixed at 30% but the upper limit can exceed £15,000.
