To book your collection or for advice on the Bulky Waste service, call the helpline on Bridgend (01656) 643643. After booking, the collection will take place within 10 working days.

The council will collect most types of bulky household refuse (such as beds, sofas, chairs, furniture etc).

However, the council is not able to collect garden waste, builders waste, rubble, fireplaces or fluorescent tubes. Householders wishing to dispose of these items are invited to visit any of the civic amenity sites. For details of locations please see the Civic Amenity Site web page .

The council will collect certain of your bulky waste items free of charge. Fridges, freezers and most free-standing household items are collected free of charge, when there are no more than a total of 3 items.

For additional items or fixed items, varying charges will apply as follows:

Is there a limit to how much can be collected?

There is no limit to the number of items collected. However, residents should be aware that for example, a bed base and mattress would be counted as two pieces of furniture.
