Regeneration

Bridgend County Borough Council is heavily involved with the regeneration of the county borough. The Sustainable Economic Regeneration Strategy and Action Plan sets out the aims and objectives for the economic development of the county borough for the next decade and presents an integral action plan detailing specific projects and potential funding sources designed to initiate the implementation of the strategy during its first three years.

Regeneration Funding

The Regeneration Funding Team is able to provide advice and support on grant funding in Bridgend County Borough.

Objective 1

More than £13 million of Objective 1 money was drawn in to the county borough in 2003. The funding is available for eligible groups and organisations to improve the local community, create jobs and revitalise the economy.

Maesteg Washery Site

The £10 m Maesteg Washery Regeneration Scheme funded mainly by the Welsh Development Agency is underway. Once complete, it will provide a suitable site for the construction of the new comprehensive school and playing fields for Maesteg.
