Statement by Bridgend County Borough Council re: job losses at Dairy Farmers of Britain
Bridgend County Borough Council is saddened to hear of the loss of 279 jobs at Dairy Farmers Of Britain and is offering support to the workers who have been affected by this decision.
The authority and its partners in the Redundancy Response Team will be meeting with the workers at the factory on Tuesday 16 June to offer a range of help and assistance.
This will include information about alternative job opportunities in the area, benefits, options for self-employment or new training and advice about interviews and CVs.
The team will also be looking at the possibility of using the REACT fund to offer incentives to other local businesses to take on staff who have been made redundant.
The Redundancy Response Team features representatives from Bridgend County Borough Council, Jobcentre Plus, Careers Wales and Flexible Solutions for Business.
