Aladdin breaks box office records at Grand Pavilion
Porthcawl’s Grand Pavilion is celebrating its most successful pantomime to date with record numbers seeing ‘Aladdin’ over Christmas and the New Year.
The theatre, part of Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts and Culture Service, attracted thousands of panto-goers to the all-star production featuring CBeebies favourite Chris Corcoran and Real Radio’s Tony Wright.
The show was so popular that the Pavilion is already selling tickets for next year’s pantomime ‘Beauty and the Beast’, also produced by WISH Theatre.
WISH Theatre’s Steve Boden, producer of Aladdin, said: “I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone that came to see Aladdin over the festive period.
“Thanks to those of you that came we exceeded our own target of making the show the best ever to come to Porthcawl.”
Mark Phillips, the Pavilion’s acting manager, added: “We are delighted. On every count we have exceeded expectations for this year’s pantomime. This is due to the hard work and dedication of the staff at the Grand Pavilion and WISH Theatre and, most importantly, our audiences who cam to see the show and then spread the word to their families and friends.”
Tickets are now on sale for “Beauty and the Beast”. For more information contact the box office on 01656 815995. For more information, visit www.grandpavilion.co.uk
