Temporary road closures for John Street
Bridgend County Borough Council has approved a request for a series of temporary road closures that will affect parts of John Street in Porthcawl.
The unpedestrianised part of John Street will be closed from its junction with Lifeboat Road to its junction with The Esplanade on a number of dates to allow the siting of a heavy crane which is delivering large construction materials for the Brogden Building.
The road closures are scheduled to take place on the 8 and 12 December 2008, 12 and 16 January 2009 and 2, 6, 23 and 27 February 2009.
A diversionary route through Lifeboat Road, The Square and the Esplanade will be set up on these dates.
Under the terms of the temporary closure, developers St Padarn Properties Limited will be required to contact local businesses, property owners and occupiers to make them aware of the closures and to allow time for alternative arrangements to be made.
Temporary traffic signage will also be erected while the closures are in place.
The closures are being implemented under the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984.
