Council grants will secure new jobs
Two companies will receive council grants of £57,000 each, creating 17.5 jobs and safeguarding a further two, following approval by Cabinet members.
The grants will go to Metro Self Storage Ltd. which is expanding on to a site on Brackla Industrial Estate and Anchorwend Ltd. which owns a partially redeveloped building on Abergarw Industrial Estate.
They are being awarded under the council’s new Industrial Estates Improvement Programme which aims to help businesses improve their premises and surrounds.
Metro Self Storage will use the grant to do extensive landscaping of its new site, while Anchorwend Ltd will upgrade a currently unused site to provide much needed employment premises very close to the M4 junction.
Councillor John Spanswick, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “This is very good news as it creating and safeguarding jobs and is helping to develop SMEs which we are short of in the county borough. This is very welcome at a difficult time for the economy.”
