Children's Commissioner Visits New Welsh School
The Children's Commissioner for Wales, Keith Towler paid a visit to Bridgend County Borough's new Welsh school Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd on Tuesday, 21 October.
Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd was the only school that the Commissioner visited within Bridgend County Borough as part of his tour of Wales.
During his visit Keith Towler met with the school council who raised a number of issues affecting them, including safety in playgrounds and using social networking sites such as BEBO and MySpace. They also provided a number of suggestions that the Commissioner said he would consider and possibly take forward.
Headteacher Mark Jones said "We are pleased that Mr Towler chose our school as part of his tour of Wales and it was lovely to hear our children express their views on matters affecting them so articulately."
