Councillors Allowances
Allowances are paid according to the findings of the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales which makes sets out the maximum levels for basic councillor expenses throughout Wales. Councillors are not paid for attending meetings but receive an allowance to reimburse them for the time and expenses incurred whilst on Council business. Members can also claim travel allowance for attendance at approved duties, the current rate is 40p per mile reducing to 25p per mile after 10,000 miles.
