Have your say on Bridgend County’s
new Community Strategy
Bridgend Local Service Board’s first Community Strategy will be published next year and will set out its priorities and objectives for Bridgend County.
The priorities are laid out overleaf along with a series of short questions which ask for your thoughts and comments and whether you think is anything missing.
All the responses will be collated and considered before the final strategy is published.
LSB chair Jo Farrar said: “This consultation gives everyone a chance to see the priorities which public, private and voluntary sector organisations will work together on for the County of Bridgend. It will also introduce the LSB’s new logo and vision for Bridgend County, which I hope people will come to recognise as it will show the amount of work that different organisations in our area carry out together”.
“I think the words which accompanies the logo – ‘Bright Future’ – really sum up the area, the direction of the LSB and the whole Community Strategy. It also shows that we live and work in a county of potential which offers opportunities for many different people”.
There is also an opportunity on the questionnaire to say what you love most about your area. Residents are being invited to nominate a place, community, character or even an emotion which they feel positively describes Bridgend County. The most inspiring nominations will be turned into professional photographs which will be used in the strategy itself, as well as in future promotion material. Perhaps you love a
certain beach or park, a well-known local character or a particular country walk?
Please complete the questionnaire by 16 January 2009 so that your views can be built into this important process. Alternatively you can complete the questionnaire online at www.bridgend.gov.uk.
The results and final strategy will be available early in the Spring.
