Polling Review Notice
Review of Polling Districts and Polling Stations 2007
Introduction
In accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1983 and Section 16 of the Electoral Administration Act 2006, the local authority will undertake a review of the polling districts and places within its area upon a regular, four-yearly cycle. The review will commence on 6 August 2007 and will be completed by 31 December 2007, as required by statute. We are open to representations about the current arrangements until 14 September 2007.
Consultation Methods
Information relating to the current arrangements for polling districts and stations is available for inspection at the Civic Offices of Bridgend County Borough Council (see address below). The council would be pleased to receive representations for consideration from any interested elector, group or organisation, particularly those with expertise in access for persons with a disability, on alterations to the current electoral arrangements.
Local political parties and councillors are also being consulted and the Returning Officer will comment upon the proposed polling stations.
How do you make your views known?
Representations should be made in writing and should, wherever possible, include suggested alternative premises which may be used for polling purposes.

Consultation Period
The consultation period is 30 July 2007 to 14 September 2007. Please make sure you respond in writing, by 5pm on 14 September for your views to be accepted.
Next Steps
The council will consider the Returning Officer's recommendations together with any other representations made and will publish its final proposals during December 2007. This report will then be made available for public inspection.
