Bridgend Unitary Development Plan (UDP) - Proposed Modifications
|
Introduction
Bridgend County Borough Council has resolved to publish Proposed Modifications to the Bridgend Unitary Development Plan (UDP), following its considerations of the Inspector's Report on the Public Inquiry into the Plan held between 23rd April - 10th December 2002.
We are now in the process of consulting on the proposed modifications to the plan. To take part in the consultation you will need to read the relevant documents (as detailed below) and then complete an objection/representation form.
How to access the Consultation Documents
Hard copies of the proposed modifications to the Plan (other than modifications which the Authority is satisfied will not materially affect the content of the plan proposals), with the Authority's reason for proposing them, are available for inspection at:
- The Planning Department
Civic Offices
Angel Street
Bridgend
CF31 4WB - Libraries
The proposed modifications document is also available in every library within the County Borough, during normal working hours. Normal working hours of the Council are Monday - Thursday, 8.30am - 5.00pm, Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. Opening hours for the individual libraries will vary.
Also available for inspection are:
- copies of the plan proposals (The Deposit UDP);
- the report of the person who held the local inquiry (The Inspector's Report);
- and the Authority's statement of decisions in the light of the report.
The authority does not intend to accept all of the recommendations in the report. A list of the recommendations which the authority does not intend to accept is available with the above documents.
Copies of these documents may also be purchased from the Planning Department at the following charges (cheques payable in advance to 'Bridgend County Borough Council'):-
The Statement of Decisions £25.00
The Proposed Modifications to the UDP £50.00
The Independent Sustainability Appraisal £10.00
The Inspector's Report £50.00
The Deposit UDP and Inspector's Report are currently available to view online; the other documents will be available to view on the 'UDP' section of this website in due course.
How to Respond
The objection/representation form and guidance notes are available online to download, print, and send in as well as in paper format at the Planning Department and at Libraries.
A separate form is required for each individual representation or objection you may wish to make.
Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the plan proposals.
Please Note: At this stage of the UDP preparation you may only object to, or make written representations in support of a proposed modification to the UDP, or the fact that the Council has not accepted a recommendation for modification made by the Inspector. Objections cannot relate to the contents of the Original Deposit UDP. Any such comments received will not be treated as being 'duly-made'.
Consultation Period
Dates of Statutory Consultation: 3 June - 16 July 2004.
All objections / representations on the Proposed Modifications to the UDP must be received in writing before 4.30pm, Friday 16 July 2004. Any comments received after that deadline will not be accepted.
Please post your representation / objection, using the objection/representation form, to:
Mr Martin Hooker,
Assistant Director - Planning Services,
Bridgend County Borough Council
Civic Offices,
Angel Street,
Bridgend,
CF31 4WB.
If no objections are received during the period given for making objections, Bridgend County Borough Council intends to adopt the proposals on the expiry of that period.
