Citizens' Panel
Our Citizens' Panel consists of approximately 1,350 residents of the County Borough who take part in questionnaire surveys about a wide range of issues of importance to us and to the County Borough. The panel take part in approximately three postal questionnaire surveys a year, and can also be contacted to take part in focus groups and other consultation methods.
What does the panel membership look like?
The panel is made up of people aged 16+ from all over the County Borough, from all walks of life, providing a cross section of all members of the community. Membership is continually monitored and replenished in order to ensure that the demographic breakdown of panel members is as closely matched to the population of the County Borough as possible and to ensure that panel members are committed and high response rates achieved. To correct any imbalances in the response to surveys, the results are statistically weighted to ensure that the panel data remains representative - i.e. where there are any imbalances in the sample, these are corrected by weighting the data, to ensure that they are representative of the population.
There are currently approximately 1350 people on the panel.
Interested in becoming a panellist?
We are always interested in hearing from people who would like to join the Citizens' Panel, and we regularly replenish the membership. We do need to make sure however, that there is a good cross-section of panellists - from all age ranges and areas of the County Borough, so not everyone who applies to be on the panel can always become a member straight away.
