Youngsters from Porthcawl and nearby areas who have that extra special star quality are being encouraged to come along to the Grand Pavilion and audition for the Christmas panto!
Producers of this year’s show, which is the tall tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, are searching high and low for young stars to join the cast as panto babes.
Jack and the Beanstalk is an all time family favourite and the show’s producers from Imagine Theatre are eager to get some young, local talent – primarily from the Bridgend County - involved with the show too.
Children between the ages of eight and 16 are being invited to tread the boards and show off their fancy footwork and audition at the Grand Pavilion theatre on September 5, at 9.45am for 10am start.
This year’s panto is already shaping up to be even bigger (quite literally with that giant around) and better then last year’s hugely successful production of Beauty and the Beast.
Children cast as babes will be in good company too, sharing the stage with Pobol y Cwm stars Brian Hibbard and Gillian Elisa, who are starring as the devilish Fleshcreep and the Fairy respectively.
Steve Boden, producer of the show from Imagine Theatre, said: “Auditioning youngsters for the panto is always a lot of fun, but really tough too as we see so many great dancers!
“We are looking for kids that are great dancers, confident and also have that extra little bit of sparkle.
“The standard was very high last year so I can’t wait to see what Porthcawl youngsters have in store for us this year.”
Preparations for this year’s show are already in full swing, so make sure you book your tickets to avoid missing out on the best show in town come Christmas time!
Children auditioning are advised to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to dance in.
