Theatre Gears Up For The Best Panto Ever!

The Grand Pavilion Theatre, Porthcawl, is getting ready for the festive season by preparing for a spell-binding showtime season.

This year’s show is the timeless tale of Beauty and the Beast, which is promising to be the biggest and best panto to come to the town’s theatre.

Neil Roberts, star of the Disney Channel’s popular show Lite Bites, will be playing the part of Eugene while Real Radio’s finest Tony Wright will be returning to play Dame Dorothy Do-It! Joining Neil and Tony will be newcomer Claire Hammet, from Swansea, who takes to the stage as Beauty.

The theatre is also celebrating the success of its online ticket booking service, which despite the recession saw the very first transition take place only ten minutes after going live, meaning it is easier than ever to book tickets for this year’s panto.

Ceri Evans, cultural development and venue manager at the Grand Pavilion Theatre, said: “This year’s panto is going to be fantastic. Rehearsals begin in just a few weeks, so it really is all go now ahead of the Christmas run.

“With the launch of our online booking service it now means that panto goers can book their tickets anytime, seven days a week with no booking fee.”

The show runs from Saturday December 12, 2009 to Sunday January 3, 2010 and box office reports already suggest this is going to be the most successful panto yet.

Tickets are now on sale for Beauty and the Beast, for more information contact the box office on 01656 815995.
