Anyone passing along Porthcawl's seafront in recent months will have probably noticed we've been having just a little bit of work done. It has primarily focused upon the need for improved access from both the promenade and car park, with new accessible toilet in the Stage Door (the basement function room) and a new entrance lobby with passenger lift. We have also used the opportunity to refurbish the Stage Door Gents and Ladies Toilets, install new ventilation and carry out essential concrete repairs and redecoration to the front facade. The work means that customers can now take advantage of remodeled entrance ramps on The Esplanade with automatic doors, as well as level-access from the car park into a new entrance lobby with passenger lift to the ground floor and level-access in to the Stage Door.
All of this coincides with a really exciting time in the Pavilion's history – with some great names lined up for the Autumn, including Rob Brydon (sorry, sold out in March!), William Roache (Corrie's Ken Barlow) and Rhod Gilbert; and an exciting brand new relationship with WISH Theatre (creators of the Tweenies, Jim Jam and Sunny and Fun Song Factory) who will bring us our Christmas pantomime – Aladdin, starring Real Radio's Breakfast DJ Tony Wright and Cbeebies Chris Corcoran.
The Grand Pavilion remains an iconic and much loved building on Porthcawl's coast line and we look forward to welcoming you sometime soon.
