Maesteg pupils cycle to Paris
Maesteg Comprehensive sixth form has been busy raising an incredible £1771.20 for Children in Need. The main fund raiser, a ‘sponsored cycle’ from Maesteg to Paris, covered an impressive 753km, made possible by a team of dedicated students and equipment provided by Maesteg Sports Centre.
Maesteg Sports Centre Manager, Nick Flay said, ‘We are pleased to support community events like this. Not only is it great that pupils are taking on such a physical challenge, but the money raised is going to a very worthwhile cause.
“The machines we have provided are perfect for this sort of test. Our new Technogym and wellness system equipment is recognised as a worldwide leader in fitness equipment with state of the art interactive features. Just right for keeping track of the student’s progress!”
Rhys Jones, deputy head boy, states “I am thrilled to be part of such a worthwhile cause, raising lots of money for ‘Children in Need’.
