Francis and Phineas, Victorian characters from Pick ‘n’ Mix Circus will be joining in the festive celebrations at Bryngarw House and Country Park on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December at the Victorian Christmas themed event between 10am – 5pm.

The winter festival is set on the beautiful lawns and inside the house at the award winning 113 acres of spectacular parkland that boasts Bridgend County Borough Council’s largest picturesque landscape.

During the weekend, Francis and Phineas will cast a warm Victorian glow over the proceedings by joining in the jolly japes and games and providing entertainment free of charge for the whole family to enjoy.

The programme will involve circus skills on the lawn in front of Bryngarw House including interaction with the crowds by providing demonstrations on mastering the art of juggling with the opportunity to take part in the ancient skill of the famous oriental warrior weapon ‘the diablo’. Plus don’t miss out on experiencing the thrill of the low wire (safety equipment will be provided free of charge).

These Victorian characters will also amaze you with their skills on the one wheeled velocipede and the four wheeled pedalgo and keep the children amused with their mesmerising balloon modelling into all weird and wonderful shapes including animals.

As well as the Victorian entertainers, families can enjoy an exciting array of traditional Victorian themed rides and stalls and the highlight of the festival is a visit from Father Christmas. He will be present from 11.15am-1.15pm on both days, meeting and greeting children and hearing their Christmas wishes.

Carol singing is open to all on Sunday 18 December at 7.30pm accompanied by a brass band and includes complimentary mulled wine and mince pies.

Admission and car parking is free all weekend and tickets to the value of £1.50 are to be bought at the ticket booth and exchanged at the rides, stalls or food carts. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Due to this being an outdoor event it is weather dependent, therefore we advise you contact Bryngarw House on 01656 729009 prior to starting your journey. Visitors are advised to wear wellies or other suitable footwear as much of the Victorian Christmas will be taking place on the lawn. Please bring torches with you to walk to and from the car park.

Bryngarw House and Country Park is part of the ‘One Historic Garden’ project linking heritage, gardens and opportunities across South Wales, and is part-funded by the EU’s Convergence European Regional Development Fund through Visit Wales & the Welsh Government and supported by The Valleys Heart and Soul of Wales campaign.
