Sustainable DevelopmentEducation for Sustainable Development & Global Citizenship (ESDGC)

ESDGC is about -

  • Understanding the global issues affecting our planet so we can work together to resolve them.
  • Valuing and respecting the amazing diversity of the planet including our people, cultures, wildlife and habitats.
  • Learning how our daily choices and decisions can have an impact on the lives of others, as well as the planet

How does Bridgend CBC support ESDGC?

  • ESDGC Task Group – this group includes representatives from all education sectors and aims to develop ESDGC effectively across the county through the Bridgend ESDGC Strategy and Action Plan.
  • Bridgend Environmental Education & Sustainability (BEES) Partnership – this partnership brings together Council officers and organisations that support ESDGC to share information, provide updates on their work and contribute to projects.
  • Training – themed workshops engage those involved in formal or informal education such as teachers, governors and youth workers in ESDGC.
  • Resources – the BEES website has teaching resources as well as a number of other documents to support teachers and others deliver ESDGC. Tool-kits and other materials have also been created and distributed to schools.
