How to find us

When do I need a tipping permit?

If you want to take a van or trailer to your local community recycling centre, you may need a tipping permit. This helps us to control the deposit of non-household waste.

Which vehicles require a permit?

  • Vans up to SWB transit size
  • Trailers between 5ft and 6ft 6in (1.5m to 2m) in length
  • 4x4 SUV pick-ups (open or closed back)

Larger vehicles or trailers are not permitted to use the Community Recycling Centres. If you are using a car or a trailer under 5ft in length then you don’t need to register your vehicle before visiting.

Please note that vans and trailers can’t be taken to our Brynmenyn centre.

How can I obtain a permit?

Tipping permits can be obtained free of charge by calling us on 01656 643643 at least 48 hours before you want to visit one of the centres. You will need to provide the following details:

  • Your name and address
  • A list of items that you want to recycle
  • The date and nominated centre that you wish to attend
  • Your vehicle’s registration number, make and model

Please note that in some cases, we may need to inspect the waste that you want to be disposed of at your home before granting a permit.

Controlled materials

If you want to dispose of asbestos, an inspection will need to be arranged before your visit. A charge may apply for this.

Plasterboard and rubble are classed as construction waste and are limited to two manageable bags only. If you have larger quantities than this, alternative methods of disposal should be arranged via a skip or waste removal company.
