How to find us

What can I recycle at my local centre?

Before visiting your local community recycling centre, please check the list below to see whether we can accept the items that you wish to recycle. Don’t leave waste outside the recycling centres - you could be prosecuted for fly tipping.

To avoid delays, please sort your recycling before arriving at the recycling centre so that it can be put into the correct containers. Bags of domestic waste can be put into the general waste skip, but won’t be accepted if they contain any material that can be recycled.

Asbestos (at our Tythegston centre only with a tipping permit. A charge may apply.) Batteries (car and household)
Bikes Bric-a-brac
Cans Cardboard
Cooking oil Gas cylinders
Glass bottles and jars Green/garden waste
Electrical and electronic items Fridges/freezers
Motor oil Paper
Paint Plastics
Scrap metal Soil
Textiles Wood

Plasterboard and rubble are classed as construction waste and are limited to two manageable bags only. If you have larger quantities than this, alternative methods of disposal should be arranged via a skip or waste removal company. Trade waste is not accepted.

For more information please call us on 01656 643643 or email recyclingandwaste@bridgend.gov.uk
