Garages/Parking spaces to let

Bridgend County Borough Council owns garages and car parking spaces throughout the County Borough which are available to rent for the use of storing a vehicle. Garages cannot be rented to store furniture, garden equipment or to use as a workshop as they are susceptible to damage from condensation.

The council owns two purpose built garage compounds in Blaengarw. Garages at these sites are owned by the council and let on monthly tenancies.

How do I terminate my garage tenancy?

To terminate the tenancy of a garage or a garage base a period of one month’s written notice must be given stating the date you would like the garage site/base to be terminated.

Tenancies of garages and garage bases cannot be transferred to third parties at the end of your tenancy.

Any rental arrears must be cleared before the termination can be accepted. If you fall behind with the rent at any time, the council may issue a “Notice to Quit” and you will be asked to clear the outstanding debt. The garage/base must be left in an acceptable condition.
