Introduction

Your views are being invited on a proposal to develop a bigger and more accessible library for Bridgend. In order to consult as widely as possible, we want to hear from users and non-users of the library including those who live in, trade in, work in or visit Bridgend.

Summary of the proposal

The proposal is to re-locate the current Bridgend Library from Wyndham Street to a new library facility within Bridgend Recreation Centre, as part of its multi-million pound development. The aim would be to develop a more accessible library service and attract a wider range of users in the future.

Although Bridgend Recreation Centre is managed by our partners Halo, the library service, if moved, will continue to be managed and operated by Bridgend County Borough Council.

The consultation document outlining full details of the proposal is available to read by clicking here.

A plan of the proposed new facility is also available to view at Bridgend Library and at Bridgend Recreation Centre throughout the consultation period.

If you require the consultation document in a different format, please contact Margaret Griffiths on 01656 754803 or at Margaret.Griffiths@bridgend.gov.uk
