Bridgend Flying Start
The Flying Start programme is a Welsh Government funded initiative that aims to provide families with better opportunities for their children.
One of Welsh Government’s top priorities, the programme ensures that children across the county have the opportunity to develop, play and learn in readiness for school.
The core elements of the Flying Start programme include:
- Free high-quality, part-time childcare for 2-3 year olds
- Enhanced health visiting service
- Access to parenting programmes
- Early language development
The Flying Start areas in Bridgend County Borough include identified streets in Bettws, Blackmill, Brackla, Cefn Glas, Caerau, Cornelly, Lewistown, Maesteg Park, Oakwood Estate, Plasnewydd, Sarn and Wildmill.
More than 1,000 children have already benefitted from the programme in these areas.
