Last chance to showcase your business excellence

The Food Shed Bridgend Business Of The Year 2016

26 June, 2017

Businesses in Bridgend County Borough only have one week to enter the prestigious BridgendBusiness Forum Awards 2017.

With so many thriving and diverse businesses in the Bridgend area, local businesses are being urged to take centre stage and gain the recognition they deserve.

Sponsored by Bridgend College, these awards aim to celebrate the excellence amongst a wide variety of businesses, showcasing the most promising, innovative, creative and entrepreneurial companies in the county borough. The awards culminate in a glittering ceremony hosted by BBC news correspondent, Sian Lloyd at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Bridgend on the 29 September 2017.

Last year, The Food Shed won ‘Start-up Business of the Year’ before winning the coveted Bridgend ‘Business of the Year’ award. Owners Roxane Dacey and Michelle Noble have attributed many benefits to the business as a result of winning these awards.

Roxane Dacey said: “The actual awards ceremony itself was fantastic and it was really nice to celebrate what we’ve achieved as a business and it was great for staff morale. It got our name out there and it was brilliant to have something attached to the business. To say you’ve won an award strengthens the quality you are offering and it’s fantastic to be able to tell customers. We would urge any local business to enter these awards. The application process is very simple and the recognition is fantastic!”

Michelle Noble added: “It was a nice confidence boost for us and it was great to be recognised for such as amazing award. We’ve included winning the awards in some of our funding applications and we believe it’s really strengthened them. In just the past 12 months, we’ve managed to secure £300,000 in funding. It really is worth entering the Bridgend Business Forum Awards; the application form is really easy to fill in and it only took us an hour to complete.”

The 2017 award sponsors include: Bridgend College; Rockwool; ISA Training; Berry Smith Lawyers; EEF, the manufacturer’s organisation; SME Finance Partners; Handelsbanken; ION Leadership; Harris Bassett; KK Solutions; and United Graphic Design.

All businesses based in Bridgend County Borough are eligible to enter and have until Thursday 6 July to apply. Applications are welcomed from every size and sector of business – just as long as they can demonstrate innovative and sustainable business ideas. Businesses can also enter more than one category.

Details of the awards, including application forms are available on the website: www.bridgendbusinessforum.co.uk
