How to find us

Residents can go online or visit roadshows for answers to their recycling questions

15 June 2017

Bridgend County Borough residents are urged to visit www.recycleforbridgend.wales to find out everything they need to know about changes to home recycling, or look out for roadshows that will be held locally this week.

As well as a short animation describing all of the changes, the website details what can and can’t be recycled in each of the new recycling containers that homes are now using, while you can also read answers to the most commonly asked questions about the scheme which got underway last week.

There is also an opportunity to ask questions in person this week, as the council’s recycling roadshow will be held at the Tesco store in Maesteg on Thursday 15 June and Friday 16 June from 11:30am – 6:30pm, before moving on to the Co-Op store in Pencoed on Saturday and Sunday.

We also have the following advice for residents:

- If you haven’t yet received the new recycling containers and blue bin bags, please email recyclingandwaste@bridgend.gov.uk or call 01656 643643 (and choose the option for waste).

- In the meantime, please use black bin bags while you are waiting for the new ones, and continue using the old recycling containers while you wait for your new ones to be delivered.

Missed collections

If you think that your recycling or household waste has not been picked up, you should check your collection dates online. If you have done this and believe that a collection was due, leave the sacks, boxes and bags out and report it by emailing recyclingandwaste@bridgend.gov.uk or calling 01656 643643 and selecting the ‘waste’ option.

Absorbent Hygiene Products

If you have registered for the Absorbent Hygiene Products or ‘nappy’ collection but have not received the bags yet, please put your AHP items into the new blue bin bags, and if needed, use a black bag for any additional non-recyclable waste. These will be collected from registered addresses without any penalties until such time as the AHP bags have been delivered. You can register by emailing  recyclingandwaste@bridgend.gov.uk or calling 01656 643643.
