A White Christmas in Bridgend town centre

05 December 2017

Anyone who is dreaming of a White Christmas should head to Bridgend town centre on Saturday 9 December (11am – 2pm) where they will find a range of seasonal festivities including magical snow flurries!

Shoppers can climb inside a giant snow globe, enjoy some yuletide sounds from a roving piano and bass playing Christmas jingles, say ‘hi’ to a giant walking snowman as he wobbles about the town, then marvel as Father Christmas and Rudolf are carved into an ice sculpture with a chainsaw.

The FREE event has been organised by Bridgend County Borough Council in partnership with the CF31 BID group of local traders.

Councillor Charles Smith, the council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Education, said: “There will be plenty of entertainment for all the family to enjoy, and lots of fake snow to play in! There will be snow flurries on the hour, every hour, so wrap up warm and come down to Bridgend town centre this Saturday for a White Christmas to remember.”

Councillor Smith added: “Shoppers are also reminded that the first two hours of parking will remain FREE at the Rhiw car park in Bridgend up until the end of March 2018. Christmas shoppers in Porthcawl will also be pleased to hear that they can park for FREE in the Hillsboro Place car park after 10am every Saturday throughout December.”

Don’t get your tinsel in a twist figuring out how to keep the children entertained at this most wonderful time of the year – visit www.bridgend.gov.uk for a full list of local events this festive season.
