Last chance to unmask your excellence at business awards

4 July 2016

Businesses in Bridgend County Borough have until this Friday (8 July) to enter the prestigious BridgendBusiness Forum Awards 2016.

These awards aim to celebrate the excellence amongst a wide variety of businesses, showcasing the most promising, innovative and entrepreneurial companies in the county borough. The awards culminate in a glittering ceremony hosted by BBC news correspondent, Sian Lloyd at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch, Bridgend on the 23 September 2016.

All businesses based in Bridgend County Borough are eligible to enter. Applications are welcomed from every size and sector of business – just as long as they can demonstrate innovative and sustainable business ideas. Businesses can also enter more than one category.

Speaking after the 2015 business awards, Malcolm Pearce, Managing Director of Customised Sheet Metal Ltd, winners of ‘Bridgend Business of the Year 2015’ said: “We were absolutely delighted and astounded to win not one, but three awards at the ceremony! We have many years’ experience in our industry and we deal with clients from across Europe, but it’s fantastic to be recognised on a local level for our achievements. We would like to thank the Bridgend Business Forum for this opportunity to showcase our success.

”We would urge any local business to enter these awards. The application process is very simple and the recognition is fantastic!”

Ian Jessopp, Chair of Bridgend Business Forum said: “This is the fourth year the forum has organised this competition, and celebrating excellence remains at the heart of the Bridgend Business Forum Awards.

“Business owners and managers have to work hard to keep ahead of the competition, and the peer to peer endorsement that comes from winning one of these awards really can make the difference when it comes to securing new customers and winning new business.”

Head of Public Affairs at ROCKWOOL UK, Ólöf Jónsdóttir, said: “ROCKWOOL UK is proud to sponsor this year’s Bridgend Business Forum Awards, which are a fantastic celebration of the inspiring individuals and businesses in our local community. We would like to wish all entrants the best of luck and look forward to meeting the winners at the ceremony in September.”

The 2016 award sponsors include ROCKWOOL UK, Berry Smith Lawyers, Bridgend College, EEF, Finance Wales, Graham Paul Chartered Accountants, Handelsbanken, kksolutions and United Graphic Design.

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Leader, Councillor Mel Nott OBE, added: ““We should never underestimate the vital role that small and medium-sized businesses in Bridgend County Borough play in driving our local economy. These companies should be acknowledged and celebrated – this is why the council is proud to support these awards, which provide the perfect platform to do this.

“I would urge all businesses across the county borough to submit an application to gain the recognition you and your employees truly deserve.”
