Heritage
Information is a new online resource which brings together the key people,
products and information relevant to building conservation in the UK
- a charitable trust created to enable the better care of our national
heritage.
Maintaining,
conserving and restoring the United Kingdom's fine collection of period
buildings, gardens and parks is a major task. Heritage Information brings
together everyone and everything involved: skilled craftsmen, contractors,
experts, consultants, specialist sources of information, academic and
training courses, products, books, news and jobs.
Heritage Information - at www.heritageinformation.org.uk
- provides a wealth of information: from a vetted register of consultants,
contractors and craftsmen, to comprehensive lists of building conservation-related
product and material suppliers, courses, news and events. If they prefer,
users can also telephone Heritage Information's dedicated helpline for
the same information.
Heritage
Information is all about putting people in touch with each other, making
information easy to find and simplifying the process of conserving,
restoring and sustaining buildings well constructed by our ancestors.
Our goal is 'making heritage happen' by providing an information service
which will save people time and stem the tide of damage to the UKÕs
historic landscape.
All
the relevant Government departments and conservation organisations support
our initiative, including English Heritage, the Department of Trade
and Industry, the National Trust, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Crown
Estate and the Council for the Care of Churches.
