THE
DEPOSIT PERIOD
On
23 March 2001, Bridgend County Borough Council resolved to
approve a deposit version of the Unitary Development Plan
(UDP). That document was placed on formal deposit from 24
May to 6 July. In accordance with the Town and Country Planning
(Development Plan) the authority published a Notice for two
successive weeks in the Glamorgan Gazette, as a local newspaper
circulating in the area covered by the plan, and also once
in the London Gazette.
The
Notice, which was also served on statutory consultees and
other relevant parties.
·
stated
where copies of the plan and other relevant documents were
deposited, and when they were available for inspection;
·
specified
the period during which objections and representations should
be made, i.e. upto 4.30pm on 6 July 2001;
·
stated
where those objections and representations should be sent;
·
made
it clear that only those objectors whose representations were
made within the deposit period specified have a right to have
their objections considered at a public inquiry;
·
stated
that the plan would be adopted after the deposit period has
expired if no objections were received.
Deposit
copies of the plan and other relevant documents were made
available for inspection at the Council Offices and at all
Libraries in the County Borough. Copies were also sent to
statutory consultees including all Town and Community Councils.
In
addition, the 738 organisations and individuals who commented
on the draft plan published in June 2000 were advised of the
availability of the deposit documents.
