The Arts Development team are committed to supporting the development of arts and culture initiatives in the county borough. Through working closely with local schools, community groups, arts organisations and creative industries, the Arts Development team provide a variety of opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities to participate in a range of innovative arts based projects throughout the area: | |||
Bridgend Music Instrumental Team: | |||
Would you like to learn how to play a musical instrument? Did you know that the Bridgend Instrumental Music Team aims to provide tuition at all levels on all musical instruments for Bridgend county borough pupils? All teachers are well qualified and experienced specialists in their field, having trained in a variety of musical institutions. They are all accomplished performers and are actively committed to and involved in making music. | |||
Bridgend Youth Dance: | |||
If you are aged between 7 and 25 years, Bridgend Youth Dance really is “Your Chance To Dance”. Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts & Culture service and supported by the Arts Council of Wales, this scheme encourages participation through the basic dance experience and targets the untapped talents of those wishing to further their skills through workshops, educational visits and performances. | |||
Bridgend Youth Theatre: | |||
Bridgend Youth Theatre now has over 500 members aged between 5 and 25, holding workshops in The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl and the Berwyn Centre in Nantymoel. Members have performed to high acclaim through Bridgend county borough, London, Cardiff and Dublin and have been offered the chance to appear in TV and film projects for the BBC, ITV and S4C. There is no audition or interview to join the scheme, our only demand is that members fully commit themselves to working together, ensuring the experience is enriching and rewarding. | |||
Creative Industries Training Scheme: | |||
The Creative Arts Training Scheme for performing arts and arts administration has been made possible through a grant from the Arts Council of Wales and is organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts and Culture service. Open to all residents of Bridgend, the scheme offers a range of industry based training including production design, stage management, sound and lighting, directing, producing, costume design and arts administration. | |||
