Horse Riding

Many of the best opportunities for horse riding are in the forests, although you must obtain a permit from Forest Enterprise unless you’re on a public bridleway or byway.

The Coed Morgannwg Way, at present a 36 miles (58km) long walking route, is being upgraded for use by riders and linked to circular rides along its length.

From Bridgend County Borough you’ll be able to reach the Coed Morgannwg Way via the Garw Fechan Woodland Park or the Ogmore Forest.

Horse riders are also welcome on some common land around Bridgend. You can hack across mountains or enjoy gentle riverside and coastal rides as the fancy takes you.

The South Wales Equestrian Centre can offer riding lessons and much more

To find out which commons you can ride on contact. The Legal and Property Department, Bridgend County Borough Council, Civic Offices, Angel Street, Bridgend, CF31 1LX. Telephone +44 (0)1656 643643
