What is The People's Network?FREE computer facilities for everyone to use are provided at your local library. Funded by the Lottery's New Opportunities Fund, this initiative is part of the Government's commitment to lifelong learning and the provision of information. |

Each local library has the following People's Network facilities:
n Fast Internet access
n E-mail
n Microsoft Office software (word processing, spreadsheets etc.)
n Scanners and printers
n Downloading to floppy disk and CD
In addition, the People's Network will open up the Bridgend Library and Information Service's unique local history collections to everyone. An extensive programme is underway to make thousands of historical photographs, documents and texts available on every computer terminal and over the Internet.
How do I use The People's Network?
n The People's Network is available FREE of charge at the libraries listed.
n If you are already a library member, you need only complete a simple form to start using the People's Network (if you are under 16 you will need a parent's signature).
n If you are not yet a library member, please enquire about joining at your local library.
Membership is free to all.
n If you have never used a computer before, don't worry. Staff at your local library will show you how.
n Free taster sessions for groups or organisations can be booked. Enquire at your local library.
